Okay, okay, I know it’s been awfully quiet around here lately, but work is work and quite frankly, it’s very rewarding at the moment, so I hope you can forgive the lack of updates.
In my defense, at least concerning our beloved Battlestar Galactica, it’s been rather quiet around the interwebs lately, so most of the things here are pretty much old news that I nevertheless hadn’t mentioned before. So here we go:
First and foremost, if you check the top of this site, you might discover that there’s actually a new page added, called Battlestar Galactica. It’s just a little customer service I was planning on introducing a while back and it gives you quick access to my Impressions, the What The Frak recaps and all spoilery posts concerning Season 4.5 so far. Probably this will be expanded at some point, but it’s a start.
So, originally it was planned that you find my 33 Impressions at this place, but unfortunately my machine is really acting up on me at the moment, resulting in an epic fail when it comes to video playback. And seeing that I don’t know the whole episode by heart, well, there’s your problem.
I can only hope I’ll be able to fix this soon-ish, but in the meantime here’s something that should keep you amused. On last week’s Galactica Four Convention in London, Rick Worthy, Luciana Carro and the marvelous Callum Keith Rennie did a little ‘Whose line is it anyway‘ improvisation. And thanks to JhavaUK, I am proud to present Callum Keith Rennie (and others) singing:
Have to leave town tomorrow for a business trip lasting til Friday. Time and internet access will most probably be an issue, so don’t expect anything new here over the next week.
That of course doesn’t mean you can’t get in touch if you’d like, be it via comment or mail (remember the fish!). And yes, that especially means my new readers from the battlestarforum (whose thread that led them here I – despite registration – can’t access) and of course my old fans from LJ’s Kara/Lee Shipper Community who as of late drop by here again.
And in general, if there’s any recommendations, news (preferably but not limited to BSG), footage from Galactica Four or anything else you think I might want to see/read, swamp me!
Anyways, see you all (?) next week, hopefully with lots of updates, spoilers, news and perhaps even Impressions.
I know it’s been an awful long time and most of this will be old news, mostly because I still haven’t found the time to sort through all the bits that fluttered in my mailbox, but you gotta start somewhere, eh?
io9’s Morning Spoilers had some other tiny tidbitshere and here, nothing too fancy though.
And of course, Comic Con teaser trailer and no end. Still nothing to be found on the webs concerning footage, but AVSS pointed out this transcript with some more lines of dialog I didn’t know before, especially between Zarek and Gaeta.
AND JUST IN:Today’s io9 Morning Spoilers have more on the plot of the TV movie (no Callum news but we finally might learn about the Cylon’s infamous ‘plan’), more Final Cylon speculations (courtesy of the Inaccurate Movie Data Base) and Zarek’s death!
I’m posting this now because it took some time for my tears to dry.
This weekend’s Wolf Galactica Four Event, taking place Friday through Sunday in the Thistle Hotel Heathrow, London, UK, had some last minute changes in their celebrity guest lineup. Originally planned to attend were Rick Worthy (Simon), Luciana Carro (Kat), Aaron Douglas and Michael Trucco. Undoubtedly the two biggies of this list, Chief and Anders, had to cancel due to filming commitments. But the replacement guests are…
That was my first thought when I stumbled upon this website while browsing Tanveer’s blog:
TED.com is a page hosting videos of inspired talks by the world’s greatest thinkers and doers (their words, I couldn’t have phrased it better). And as far as I could check it out by now, the assortment of talks is awesome. Two examples I’d advise to check out (to get you hooked):
I give these examples because I saw videos of these talks before and therefore know how awesome they are. But stroll around, there’s plenty of stuff more on there.
And yes, BSG news will come up eventually, I’m just still reluctant to dig through this pile of Google Alerts that came in over the weekend. Bear with me.
Back home after the most wonderful of weekends, still trying to catch up on the latest buzz on the interwebs. I hope to be able to at least squeeze in a Linkroll or something and finally get to reply to a bunch of comments that are unanswered for oh so long. Please bear with me, there’s just quite a bunch of things going on right now and I’m kinda swamped.
On a different note, I got to watch X-Files: I want to believe. If you haven’t seen it yet and kinda feel like it might be a good idea to do so, here’s my advice: Grab some rusty, dull knife and start cutting off your toes until you think you had enough fun. For it might really be more fun than watching that movie.
I know it sounds a little harsh, but, hey, that is one really, really bad movie. Especially when you kinda liked the series. It might be OK in some ways for die-hard Scully/Moulder – shipper (The Kara/Lee kind of die-hard). And Callum Keith Rennie fans probably will go see it anyway (the living proof is just writing these lines). I am transportink organs. OK, that was nice. But in general, take my advice and don’t go see this movie. I have no idea what Chris Carter was thinking, but it couldn’t have been much.
But, to end this post on a lighter note, not all concerning the combination of David Duchovny And Callum Keith Rennie needs to be bad, as shown by the pure awesomeness of the latest promo for Californication (Thanks to Galactica Sitrep’s ProgGrrl):
